This prepared example shows why fractions need equal-sized parts before addition.

Your child can ask a question and get an answer back.

Kodori is an AI tutor, so a SATs revision session is a conversation, not a list of boxes to tick. If your child does not understand a word, a method, or why their answer was not right, they can ask in their own words and the tutor explains it.
What is a subordinate clause?
The tutor explains the term in language for Year 6, using the question in front of them as the example.
Why was my answer not right?
The tutor works back through your child’s own working with them until they find the step that changed the answer.
Can you explain it a different way?
The tutor tries another route in, rather than repeating the same explanation more slowly.
A SATs practice app can tell your child whether an answer was right or wrong. It cannot explain a term, follow your child’s own method, or answer a question asked halfway through a question.
Kodori is an AI tutor, not a live human tutor, and it does not replace your child’s teacher. What it does is answer your child at the moment they are stuck, in KS2 maths or English, at whatever time of day that happens.

When are the 2027 Year 6 SATs?

The 2027 KS2 SATs take place from Monday 10 May to Thursday 13 May 2027. Your child’s school will tell you its own arrangements, but the papers are taken on nationally scheduled days.

What is in the Year 6 SATs? Your child sits six test papers: two in English grammar, punctuation and spelling, one in English reading and three in maths.

There is no Year 6 SATs test for English writing or science. Your child’s teacher makes a teacher-assessment judgement in both subjects, based on their overall work and performance at school. English writing judgements may be checked by the local authority to make sure schools are applying national standards consistently. *These are standard timings. Schools arrange any approved access arrangements

Tutoring for the Year 6 SATs subjects

Help with the maths and English skills that the SATs tests cover, including reading, grammar, punctuation and spelling. Kodori supports school learning at home. It does not replace your child’s teacher.

Clear explanations when a question feels too hard

The tutor can use a smaller number, a diagram or different wording to make the idea clearer. Your child remains the person doing the thinking.

A clearer view for parents

See what your child worked on, what made more sense and what may need another look. Time online is not the same as understanding.
When you plan revision, include reading, maths reasoning, grammar, punctuation and spelling. Short, regular spelling work can be easier to manage than trying to cover everything in one long session.

Help that carries on after Year 6.

SATs are one step, not the finish line. Kodori carries on into KS3 and GCSE, so your child keeps the same kind of help at secondary school.
•  Keep working on ideas that were not secure in Year 6
•  Build on KS2 maths and English in Years 7 to 9
•  Ask questions in their own words at any stage
•  Move on to GCSE revision in Years 10 and 11

How secondary schools use SATs results

Secondary schools may use SATs results alongside other information to plan support or initial teaching groups. SATs are not a secondary-school entrance exam.

The 2027 Year 6 SATs take place from Monday 10 May to Thursday 13 May. Grammar, punctuation and spelling is on Monday, reading on Tuesday, maths Papers 1 and 2 on Wednesday, and Maths Paper 3 on Thursday.

The tests cover English grammar, punctuation and spelling, English reading and maths. English writing and science are teacher assessed, rather than tested in a Year 6 SATs paper.

A scaled score of 100 or more means a child has met the expected standard in that test. It is only one part of the picture, and your child’s school will also share teacher-assessment information.

The raw number of marks needed to reach the expected standard can change because each paper is different. Scores are converted to a scaled score so results can be reported consistently.

There is no single right amount. Short, regular sessions that start with a real gap are usually more useful than long evenings spent completing questions without understanding them.

There is no single right amount. Agree a manageable routine with your child and their teacher, include breaks, and focus on topics that need another look.

Schools can view the 2027 results from Tuesday 6 July. Your child’s school decides how it shares results with families, but you should receive them by the end of the summer term.
